International Academic Mobility

In average, Astrakhan State University enrolls approximately 200 foreign students from 31 countries per year. Thanks to cooperation agreements that ASU has signed with 15 universities of 8 countries, our students go abroad on a regular basis.

In 2007, the Unit of International Relations was established at our University; its main task is to coordinate students’ exchange with foreign universities that are our international partners, as well as to assist foreign students who wish to study at ASU on general terms. The Unit acts as the initial point for our students and faculty to arrange a travel outside Russia and to receive newly-enrolled foreign students at ASU.

Our University teaches Russian as a foreign language, as well as a large number of foreign languages depending on what educational program a student has chosen. Classes are delivered by our Department of Preliminary Education of Foreign Citizens and by our Center of International Education.

Centers of foreign languages operating at ASU deliver language programs for various goals: to study abroad, to do business, to write a research paper, etc. It is also possible to take a TOEFL, a GRE, or a DELF/DALF right at Astrakhan State University.
