ASU Will Promote Development ofCaspian Transport &Logistics Hub

OnNovember7, the ASU Boiling Point held aproject session Training HRfor Special Economic Zone Lotus and Prospects ofDevelopment ofPort-Type Special Economic Zone inAstrakhan Region, covering awide range ofissues, connected withHR potential ofthe region.

The discussion involved Sergey Milushkin, the Director-General of the Special Economic Zone “Lotus”, Astrakhan State University Rector Konstantin Markelov, teachers and researchers of the university.

In his speech, Sergey Milushkin told the participants about the work of the Special Economic Zone “Lotus”, residents of the organization, specificity of the Astrakhan geographical location, friendly contacts with the Caspian states, which need to develop into economic cooperation for further development, market analysis and understanding of the type of products that are worth producing.

According to Konstantin Markelov, ASU is intended to be an author of a programme of HR target training for new projects, connected with the development of the transport corridors “North-South” and “East-West”, which will de further developed at all levels, from university to federal level, and will cover not only the port-type special economic zone but also other areas of entrepreneurship.

The session resulted in a decision to create a concept of HR and research support of the transport and logistics cluster of the Volga-Caspian basin, to form a list of research topics on the areas of development of the Caspian transport and logistics hub in BA, MA and Ph.D. theses, to plan and hold a series of strategic sessions at the ASU Boiling Point on urgent issues of the transport and logistics complex with involvement of different experts, to draw up a roadmap on training in-demand HR for Southern Russia and the Caspian states, to organize project support by teams of young researchers, to engage foreign partners and plan finances for state grants.
