ASU Alumna Interpreted for Foreign Countries Leaders onVictory Day Parade inMoscow

Leaders ofdifferent countries, including Serb member ofthe Presidency ofBosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik and his counselor, world-famous film director Emir Kusturica, arrived inthe Russian capital toattend the celebration. Interpretation for the foreign politician was provided byLiliya Sabirova, agraduate ofAstrakhan State University

Liliya Sabirova accompanied the distinguished guests during their walk through the city, viewing of the solemn procession, floral tribute to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden and the official reception by President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

Liliya Sabirova graduated from the ASU Faculty of Foreign Languages in 2009 and worked as a translator and editor at our university for some time. Then she left for Moscow and entered the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, where she learnt the Serbo-Croatian language and improved her English, German and Spanish. In 2014, Liliya Sabirova received her first appointment to a foreign representation of the Russian Foreign Ministry — an Attaché in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The interpreter worked in Sarajevo for 5 years, rising to the rank of Second Secretary. Now the ASU alumna works in the Fourth European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
