Konstantin Markelov: “Quality Knowledge Should Be Available in Every Corner of Our Country”
Forum “Formula of Education” of the Ministry of Education of Russia has started in Moscow. Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov is moderating one of the forum’s online meetings dedicated to a single educational space.
The topic of the section is “A Single Educational Space, or Delivery of High-Quality Knowledge Anywhere in the Country”. The event brought together representatives from the Republic of Dagestan, Irkutsk, Kuzbass, Tomsk and Astrakhan regions.
The session participants presented projects aimed at addressing the issues of eliminating inequality and ensuring access to quality knowledge for every student, regardless of his/her place of residence.
The ASU rector emphasized that modern society needs young researchers, who begin to show themselves from school days. The task of universities, in his opinion, is to develop the makings of young innovators, and to take into account not only the urban environment but also regional levels.
At the meeting, colleagues from different regions spoke about new educational opportunities and showed the most striking examples of successful activities in this area.
The speakers paid special attention to the volunteer activities of professors and engineers who willingly share their experience and conduct classes with those who wish.
