Science for Defense and Defense for Science: a Unique Annual Conference Held at the ASU Branch in Znamensk
In March 2022, it was the fifth time scientists and military officers had gathered together for the traditional event “Issues of Improving the Efficiency of Scientific Activity in Russia’s Military and Industrial Complex”. This fact allows to sum up the intermediate results of the past years.
The conference “Issues of Improving the Efficiency of Scientific Activity in Russia’s Military and Industrial Complex” was initiated by the ASU Branch in Znamensk and supported by the ASU management and the command of the 4th State Central Cross-branch Training Range of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. The first conference was held on April 12, 2018.
Its experience was recognized as successful, and the ASU Branch in Znamensk, together with the 4th State Central Cross-branch Training Range of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, decided to introduce a tradition of holding the event.
Over the years, almost 1,000 people have taken part in the work of the conference, and five proceedings have been published with a total volume of 1,784 pages. The geography of the participants is actually the whole Russia. The same thing about representations — these are military, civil scientific and industrial organizations, representatives of the Strategic Missile Forces, Aerospace Forces, Rosatom, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
