Alternative Energy at ASU: Environment Force Serves Public Needs
Astrakhan State University has started the youth research conference «Alternative Energy in Russian Regions — 2018», supported by the Russian Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
The event was opened with a planetary session, where leading experts and representatives of academic institutions and governmental agencies addressed the audience with their speeches.
Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, stressed the meeting urgency and symbolism of the selection of the event venue. He also spoke about cooperation with foreign colleagues on this issue. For example, there are serious plans within the framework of the agreements with our Indian partners, as well as long-term relations with representatives of the Caspian states and Central Asia countries. All of that allows to conduct activities internationally, and the usage of renewable sources of energy is the very topic which is urgent world-wide.
The event, taking place on December 5-7, will open up new aspects of creating and developing renewable energy systems for young researchers, engineers, PhD candidates and students. The meeting involves representatives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Orenburg, Chelyabinsk and other Russian cities.
The programme offers a wide range of activities. Within the next few days, the participants will take part in breakout sessions, round-table discussions, meetings, the Young Researcher School and an excursion around the network solar power station “Neva”.
