Online International Against COVID-19

In 2020, Astrakhan State University launched a unique project "Online International Against COVID-19".

The project aims at supporting international academic cooperation between partner universities in the trying times of the coronavirus pandemic, creating a unified international educational space to help maintain students' motivation to study.

The essence of the project is that students and teachers of ASU and foreign partner universities participate in joint lectures, webinars, discussion platforms and meetings in a remote format on the Leader-ID platform of the ASU “Boiling Point” Center.

Such online meetings can be one-time, or they can be a series of lectures or webinars dedicated to a single topic. Topics for discussion correspond to current research and educational trajectories of partner universities, and are of interest to both students and teachers.

Iranian colleagues from Mazandaran and Gilan Universities held a series of lectures for ASU students and teachers on the history of art and architecture of the Caspian region, a Professor from Plovdiv University (Bulgaria) and the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari presented lectures on historical and economic topics. ASU specialists also held a number of lectures for students of foreign partner universities on historical, philological, and technical topics. You can find out more about the meetings held in the news archive.

In total, 12 online meetings were held in 2020, attended by more than 1,000 students and teachers of partner universities from Iran, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.

Translation and linguistic support of online meetings was provided by the staff of the Caspian Higher School of Translation and Interpreting.

The coronavirus pandemic has proved to be a difficult test for the international community: the global international space is once again divided. We invite you to become part of our project "Online International Against COVID-19" and "open" the borders between our countries!

To participate in the project, please notify the organizers by sending an e-mail to ic@asu.edu.ru.

  • If you want to deliver a lecture for foreign partner universities kindly specify your full name, position, name of the structural unit, title of the lecture, preferred dates and language.
  • To attend an online event organized by foreign partner universities, please specify the topic you are interested in, approximate number of students who are willing to participate, and the supervisor from your structural unit.

We will select a foreign partner university for you, gather an audience and complete registration for you on the Leader-ID platform (teaming up with “Boiling Point” Center), hold talks with foreign partners and provide linguistic support (jointly with the Caspian Higher School of Translation and Interpreting) as well as press and post releases.
