Today, Rector of Astrakhan State University made a report at the conference “Digital Economy: Modern Challenges and Real Opportunities” which is taking place in Azerbaijan.
The international scientific event was organized by Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The Rector of Astrakhan State University was the only head of a Russian HEI that attended the conference.
Konstantin Markelov presented a report “Collaboration of Scientific & Educational Potential of Caspian Region as a Factor of Competitiveness Growth in Global Economic Space” within the section “Regional Vision of Digital Cooperation”. The Rector marked out the importance of coordination of scientific research, connected with the Caspian region.
According to the ASU Rector, implementation of projects that require worldwide review and an interdisciplinary integrated approach is impossible without collaboration of scientific potential of the Caspian states. Establishment of world-class scientific and educational centres (SEC) within the framework of the national project “Science”, implemented by Russia, is one of its tools.
Astrakhan State University has already launched the project on establishment of the Centre for Promising Research of the Caspian Macroregion in the form of a cross-sector union, integrating leading regional scientific and academic institutions with real-economy organizations and with involvement of leading Russian and foreign scientists. Konstantin Markelov told his colleagues about participants and potential partners of the Caspian SEC and invited universities of Azerbaijan to join the project.
