A cooperation agreement has been signed within the framework of the visit of Director-General of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Aleksey Rakhmanov to Astrakhan region. The document was signed by Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov and Director-General of the Southern Shipbuilding & Shiprepairing Centre Aleksey Seleznev in the presence of the USC director-general.
The partnership implies joint activities in development of education, science, engineering and innovative technologies in the sphere of shipbuilding. In particular, it is planned to implement programmes on improving the education quality, drawing joint scientific, research, design, experimental and technological plans and conducting research for creating competitive products. The key component of the new cooperation is training of highly-skilled HR, assistance in employment of the university’s graduates and arrangement of traineeships at the plant.
During the excursion across the production site and the training centre of the plant, staff members and students of Astrakhan State University showed USC Director-General Aleksey Rakhmanov the university’s projects in shipbuilding. The scientists told the guest in detail about innovative capacities of the university, technologies of making components and dissimilar joints for shipbuilding with different types of welding the students learn during their studies.
