The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation is an educational project of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University aimed at training interpreters and translators in accordance with the standards of leading international organizations and T&I associations. CITS master students:

  • learn from practicing interpreters and translators;
  • participate in Russian and foreign partners’ master classes;
  • work with advanced equipment for simultaneous interpretation;
  • do voluntary work;
  • have practice in various fields: medicine, shipbuilding, oil and gas industry, law, etc.;
  • have an opportunity to train in the United Nations, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation;
  • prepare their master theses in the form of projects in coordination with real employers.

The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation represents the team of specialists and practising interpreters willing to share their knowledge and experience. Additionally, CITS conducts courses on the basics of simultaneous interpretation and work with computer-aided and machine translation. CITS develops linguistic inclusion at the university and arranges courses on the basics of Russian Sign Language and RSL-Interpretation.
